Workshops for Teachers

We’ve developed and implemented workshops for teachers at all levels, from early elementary to university science teacher educators.  This package of materials is our latest draft of what has been handed out to participants in elementary and secondary workshops, accompanying a 3-hour, interactive professional learning session. Frankly, it’s a lot of fun.  You’re welcome to peruse the materials, available here in pdf format:

  • Title and Contents
  • Introductory Materials
  • Activity 1: The Air Aquarium
  • Activity 2: The Swing of Things
  • Activity 3: Force Pairs
  • Bibliography
  • “Not A Piece of Paper” Prop
  • [revised Jan 2016]

Here’s a collection of photos from various workshops and sample classes. Interested in a workshop for your own group, school, district, etc.?  Please contact us.

We’ve also shared this work with other educators at conferences. Here’s the handout from our 2016 presentation at NDEO. Our short course at NSTA in 2019 referred to all of the above materials, and included this brief handout and these slides at the end.

In addition, you might be interested in our science guide, class prompts, or original footage and materials from our performances, Forces at Play and A Body in Motion.
